Titanium Alloy Thumbtacks

Titanium alloy thumbtacks are small fasteners made of titanium alloy (most commonly Ti-6Al-4V) as the core material. They consist of a round head, a slender shaft, and a sharp tip. They are used to temporarily fix paper, drawings, fabric samples, etc., on cork boards, foam boards, and bulletin boards. High-end models may have surface treatments such as anodizing and sandblasting.

Standard office-grade specifications: Nail head diameter approximately 10–12mm, nail shank length 8–10mm; Manufacturing process: Precision cold heading, machining, pickling and passivation/anodizing, cleaning and sterilization (medical grade).

Industrial pure titanium (Gr1/Gr2): Good plasticity and corrosion resistance, suitable for general applications; Gr5(Ti-6Al-4V): α+β type titanium alloy, high strength (tensile strength approximately 900MPa), excellent toughness, a mainstream high-end choice; Medical grade titanium alloy: Ultra-low interstitial element (ELI), excellent biocompatibility, can be used for medical marking/implantation aids.

Density/weight: Approximately 4.5 g/cm³, about 40% lighter than steel.

Corrosion resistance: A dense TiO₂ passivation film forms on the surface, preventing rusting, resisting acids and alkalis, and suitable for seawater environments.

Strength/Toughness: Strength close to high-strength steel, resistant to bending without cracking.

Biocompatible, medical-grade implantable, with no risk of metal allergy.

Surface properties: Can be anodized to produce colors such as gold, blue, purple, and black, with a high-end texture.

2. Laboratory/chemical environment: Secure record sheets in acid and alkali reagent areas, preventing corrosion and contamination from steel nails;

5. Aerospace/precision assembly: Lightweight, non-magnetic, for temporary fixation of thin metal sheets and composite material components.

The color of titanium alloy thumbtacks mainly depends on the surface treatment process (anodizing is the mainstream, but there are also sandblasting matte, mirror polishing, and blackening/etching). Furthermore, the color of anodized thumbtacks is a structural color formed by light interference due to the thickness of the oxide film, not traditional paint.

Basic Natural Color Series

Titanium Natural Color (Silver Gray / Matte Silver): No anodizing, only acid pickling and passivation or sandblasting; most commonly used in office settings, understated and scratch-resistant; mirror-polished versions are bright silver.

Pure Black / Matte Black: High-voltage anodizing or special etching treatment, suitable for high-end dark-colored bulletin boards.

Anodized Standard Color Series (Adjustable Voltage, Color Gradient)

• Blue Series: Light Blue, Sky Blue, Silver Blue, Dark Blue / Cobalt Blue;
• Purple Series: Pale Purple, Eggplant Purple, Dark Purple;

• Green Series: Light Green, Aqua Green / Cyan, Dark Green;
