1) flange design ‌

Increasing the contact area between the bolt and the connecting part to achieve stress dispersion can eliminate the need for a separate washer and improve assembly efficiency. ‌

The diameter range of flange plates is usually between 10 and 36mm. Some with toothed designs can enhance the anti-slip performance ‌

2) Anti-loosening performance ‌

The fit between the flange plate and the hexagonal head significantly enhances the ability to resist vibration and shock. Some models form a double-layer waterproof barrier through rubber sealing gaskets and bell-shaped sealing rings, increasing corrosion resistance. ‌

Titanium screws are similar to common stainless steel screws, iron screws and copper screws, but they use different raw materials.

A) Titanium screws are made of titanium material.

Generally, titanium metal materials are divided into pure titanium and titanium alloy. Titanium metal has a low density and its performance and strength are much better than those of other metal materials.

Moreover, as titanium metal elements are currently mined in smaller quantities compared to common metal elements, the raw materials for titanium screws on the market are relatively expensive. However, titanium screws produced from titanium metal elements are much more beautiful than those from other metal elements.

They seem like handicrafts and are the most widely used raw material for screws in some high-end bicycle, car, high-speed rail, track and other industries.

B) Titanium screws have high strength.

The tensile strength of pure titanium can reach up to 180kg/mm ², while titanium alloys, due to the addition of other metal elements, have slightly weaker performance than pure titanium screws. Some steels have higher strength than titanium alloys, but overall, the specific strength (the ratio of tensile strength to density) of titanium alloys exceeds that of high-quality steel. Not only that, Titanium screws made of titanium alloy have excellent heat resistance, low-temperature toughness and fracture toughness.

Therefore, many engine parts on aircraft, structural components of rockets and missiles use titanium screws.

How to measure a bolt? 

 

Take the size of the threading diameter as the outer diameter(Note: Not the screw head diameter!), then measure the diameter of the screw.

 

For example, if the threads diameter is 5mm, it is called an M5 screw. If the threads diameter is 6mm, then it is an M6 screw.

 

Length means the distance of the bolt threading or the distance of the rod(not including the thickness of the bolt head). For example, if the M5 screw full threading is 20mm, it is called M5*20 screw. If the M6 distance of rod is 35mm, then it is called M6*35 screw.
