introduction about Titanium U Bend Pipe Grade 2
Titanium U Bend Pipe Grade 2 is a U-shaped heat exchange tube made by precision bending seamless/welded tubes of titanium and titanium alloys. Its core advantages are strong corrosion resistance, lightweight, high strength and high thermal efficiency. It is widely used in heat exchangers, condensers and heat exchange tube bundles under harsh operating conditions.
They are pipe assemblies formed by bending titanium metal tubing into U-shaped bends. This design allows for a 180-degree change in fluid direction without altering the overall piping system layout, making them widely used in heat exchange systems requiring compact installation space.
The core advantages of titanium U-shaped pipes are: eliminating the need for additional elbow connectors, reducing potential leak points in the system, and significantly saving installation space.
Material and grade
***Industrial pure titanium (Gr1/Gr2/Gr7/Gr12): Excellent plasticity and extremely strong corrosion resistance (especially against seawater, chlorides, and dilute acids). Gr2 is the most commonly used; Gr7/Gr12 offer even better corrosion resistance and are suitable for highly corrosive media.
***Titanium alloys (Gr5/Gr9/Gr23): Gr5 (Ti-6Al-4V) has high strength and high temperature resistance, making it suitable for high-pressure/high-temperature applications; Gr23 (ELI) contains low-interstitial elements and is suitable for medical/cryogenic applications.

Manufacturing process
1. Pipe Cutting: Seamless/Welded titanium pipes (seamless pipes preferred for higher pressure resistance).
2. Precision Bending:
Cold Bending: Room temperature mandrel bending, high precision, good surface finish, mainstream process.
Hot Bending: Induction heating (600–800℃), suitable for large diameter/thick wall/small radius bending.
3. Stress Relief Heat Treatment: Annealing at 500–650℃ after bending to relieve stress and prevent cracking.
4. End Processing: Flat end/Bevel end, non-destructive testing (hydraulic pressure, eddy current, PMI).
