GR1 Titanium seamless tubing are very active metals with a very low equilibrium potential, resulting in a high tendency for thermodynamic corrosion in media. However, titanium is actually very stable in many media. For example, it is corrosion-resistant in oxidizing, neutral, and weakly reducing media. This is because titanium has a strong affinity for oxygen. In air or oxygen-containing media, a dense, highly adhesive, and inert oxide film forms on the titanium surface, protecting the titanium substrate from corrosion. Even if mechanical wear occurs, it will quickly self-heal or regenerate. This shows that titanium is a metal with a strong tendency to passivate. The titanium oxide film always maintains this characteristic when the medium temperature is below 315°C.
