Nickel Alloy 200 Bolt

Nickel alloy 200 bolts are fasteners made of pure nickel or nickel-based alloys, primarily used for connecting and securing components. Due to the unique physical and chemical properties of nickel-based materials, nickel bolts are typically not used for ordinary structural connections, but rather are specifically designed for extreme environments requiring high corrosiveness, high temperatures, high cleanliness, or special magnetic properties.

Characteristics: Nickel content ≥99%. Excellent alkali resistance (especially to molten alkali), good electrical conductivity, and magnetic properties.

Applications: Primarily used in caustic soda (sodium hydroxide) production equipment and food processing equipment.

Compared to ordinary stainless steel bolts (such as 304 and 316), nickel bolts have the following irreplaceable advantages:

* **King of Alkali Resistance:** Pure nickel and nickel alloys are virtually uncorroded in high-temperature, strong alkaline solutions, a quality unmatched by stainless steel.
* **Resistance to Pitting/Crevice Corrosion:** In seawater or chloride ion environments, nickel bolts are less prone to rusting or pitting.
* **High Temperature Resistance:** At temperatures of 600℃-1000℃, nickel alloy bolts exhibit significantly higher tensile and creep strength than stainless steel and will not soften or oxidize due to high temperatures.
* **Non-magnetic or Weakly Magnetic:** Some nickel alloys (such as Monel 400 and some Inconel models) are non-magnetic, making them suitable for medical devices, precision instruments, or equipment sensitive to magnetic fields.
* **High Electrical and Thermal Conductivity:** Pure nickel bolts have superior electrical conductivity compared to stainless steel and are commonly used in corrosive environments requiring grounding or conductive connections.

Nickel bolts are typically manufactured according to international standards, but non-standard parts can also be customized:

Standard System:
American Standard: ANSI/ASME B18.2.1 (hex head), B18.2.2 (square head), UNC/UNF thread.

Metric: DIN 933 (full thread), DIN 931 (partial thread), ISO 4014.

Size Range: Diameters typically range from M3 (1/8") to M100 (4").

Head Styles: External hex (most common), internal hex, square head, T-slot bolts, etc.

Ni200 (UNS N02200, corresponding to Werkstoff Nr. 2.4066) is a commercially available pure nickel material, with core standards based on ASTM B160/B162. The following is its chemical composition (all by mass fraction).

• Nickel (Ni, containing cobalt) 99.0% - The main matrix element, determining corrosion resistance and electrical and thermal conductivity.
• Iron (Fe) - 0.40% Common impurity; small amounts do not significantly affect performance.
• Manganese (Mn) - 0.35% Improves hot workability and inhibits the harmful effects of sulfur.
• Carbon (C) - 0.15% affects strength and high-temperature stability; its content must be strictly controlled.
• Copper (Cu) - 0.25% impurity element; excessive content may reduce corrosion resistance.
• Silicon (Si) - 0.35% improves casting and welding properties; excessive amounts can affect plasticity.
• Sulfur (S) - 0.01% Harmful impurity, easily causes hot brittleness, and must be strictly limited.

• Chemical Industry: Reactors, heat exchangers, and pipe flange connections (especially those involving acidic or alkaline media).
• Marine Engineering: Offshore oil drilling platforms, ship propeller mounting, and submarine cable connectors.
