Brief Introduction of AMS 4928 Titanium Bar
AMS 4928 Titanium Bar is lightweight, but with strong intensity, corrosion resistant and abundant in nature. Titanium and its alloys possess tensile strengths from 30,000 psi to 200,000 psi (210-1380 MPa), which are equivalent to those strengths found in most of alloy steels. The density of titanium is only 56 percent that of steel, and its corrosion resistance compares well with that of platinum. Of all the elements in the earth's crust, titanium is the ninth
most plentiful. Titanium has a high melting point of 3135°F (1725°C). This melting point is approximately 400°F (220°C) above the melting point of steel and approximately 2000°F (1100°C) above that of aluminum.

Development of Different Titanium Alloys
In the 1950s and 1960s, the main focus was on the development of high-temperature titanium alloys for aeroengines and structural titanium alloys for airframes. In the 1970s, a batch of corrosion-resistant titanium alloys were developed. Since the 1980s, corrosion-resistant titanium alloys and high-strength titanium alloys have been further developed. The operating temperature of heat-resistant titanium alloys has increased from 400℃ in the 1950s to 600-650℃ in the 1990s. The emergence of A2 (Ti3Al) and r (Ti-Al) -based alloys is advancing titanium from the cold end (fan and compressor) of the engine to the hot end (turbine) in the engine's application areas. Structural titanium alloys are developing towards high strength, high plasticity, high strength and high toughness, high modulus and high damage tolerance.
