Current Status of Several Core Specialty Pipes
Aerospace Hydraulic Pipes: Following a trend towards lightweighting and high pressure, operating pressures are increasing from 21MPa to 28MPa or even higher, placing extremely stringent requirements on the inner surface precision and fatigue life of the pipes.
Power Plant Condenser Titanium Welded Pipes: This represents the largest market for high-end civilian titanium pipes. Domestic production is very mature, with competition concentrated on the production efficiency and yield of thin-walled (0.5 mm) titanium welded pipes.
Medical Interventional Microtubes: These utilize cutting-edge technology. Examples include vascular stents and endoscopic biopsy forceps. Outer diameters can be as small as a few tenths of a millimeter, with wall thicknesses on the order of 0.0X millimeters. Extremely high dimensional accuracy and surface finish are required, with value measured per piece per meter.
Deep-Sea Oil and Gas Pipes: Resistant to corrosion and stress corrosion cracking in sulfur-containing oil and gas environments and high chloride ion environments, these require very strict control over alloy composition, such as the addition of precious metals like ruthenium and palladium to improve corrosion resistance.
