ASTM F136 Ti6AL4V ELI Titanium Sheets

ASTM F136 Ti6AL4V ELI titanium sheets is used in medical devices, prostheses or auxiliary treatment equipment, characterized by an elastic modulus close to that of natural bone.

Titanium metal sheets/plates are used for manufacturing medical devices, prostheses or auxiliary treatment equipment implanted in the human body.

Medical titanium has excellent corrosion resistance, an elastic modulus close to that of natural bone, and have good biocompatibility. Medical pure titanium is all single-phase structure and cannot be strengthened by heat treatment. It is classified into grades 1, 2, 3 and 4 according to the content of impurity elements such as carbon, iron and oxygen.

Titanium medical mesh and Ti6AL4V ELI titanium sheets are used for internal bone plates, bone screws, dental implants, etc. They are also used to make artificial skulls, artificial heart valves, pacemakers and titanium alloys for radiotherapy.

Material Notes: Extra low interstitial grade has lower impurity limits,especially oxygen and iron.

Alpha-Beta Alloy

(1)Pickling Treatment:

Pickling is the process of removing the oxide scale on the surface of titanium alloy plates with a mixture of hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid. After acid washing treatment, the surface of the sheet is clean, which can improve its subsequent processing and usage performance, such as welding and coating.

(2)Sandblasting and Polishing:

Sandblasting can remove impurities and defects on the surface of titanium alloy plates, making the surface roughness uniform.

Polishing can make the surface of the sheet as bright as a mirror, enhance its aesthetic appeal and corrosion resistance, and is often used in products with extremely high surface quality requirements

(3)Anodic Oxidation Treatment:

Anodic oxidation treatment can form a dense oxide film on the surface of titanium alloys, improving their corrosion resistance and wear resistance.

For instance, in the manufacturing of medical devices, titanium alloy components that have undergone anodic oxidation treatment can better resist the corrosion of human body fluids and extend their service life.
